Jacinta Gallant is an experienced and highly effective trainer in many areas of conflict resolution. Customized training is available to allow groups to focus on the content and skills they need for their specific areas of practice.

Introduction to Collaborative Law (2 or 3 days)
Learn the stages of the collaborative law process, the unique role of the lawyer and the basic skills of interest-based negotiation. This course is the foundation course for lawyers in collaborative practice.

Interest-Based Negotiation for Collaborative Lawyers (3 days)
Practice and deepen the skills taught in the introductory course to increase your effectiveness as a collaborative lawyer. Training lectures, discussion, group work and role plays will make this an interactive and engaging course for skills-building.

Advanced Issues in Collaborative Law (2 days)
Building on the skills and processes learned already, participants will work on the challenging issues presented in collaborative cases: working with impasse and high emotion, managing the collaborative lawyers’ working relationship, building a collaborative practice, bringing the law into the negotiation in a collaborative way and meeting your ethical and professional duties as advocate.

Mediation (3 days)
Learn how to act as the neutral mediator t0 assist clients in resolving disputes using an interest-based, six-step process. This interactive, experiential 3-day course focuses on communication, active listening and problem-solving skills needed to be an effective mediator.
